Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join our secondary school team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons to students aged 11–16 (and potentially A-level), fostering a love of history and helping pupils develop critical thinking, analytical, and research skills. You will be responsible for planning, teaching, assessing student progress, and contributing to the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
- Develop and implement schemes of work in line with the national curriculum
- Assess, record, and report on the development and progress of students
- Maintain classroom discipline in line with school policies
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and school events
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in History or a related subject
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
