Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils, enabling them to access the curriculum and develop their skills in a safe, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEND to enhance their learning and development.

Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.

Support pupils in class activities, adapting resources and teaching methods to meet their individual needs.

Help promote positive behaviour and social skills.

Assist with personal care and physical needs as required.

Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents.

Support the creation of a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

Attend relevant meetings, training, and contribute to the development of SEN provision.

Person Specification:

Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a school setting.

Understanding of a range of SEN including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.

Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desired but not essential).

Enhanced DBS clearance (will be arranged by the school).
