RT Education is currently working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school to recruit a qualified Design & Technology Teacher for a full-time, permanent role starting in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated teacher to join a well-equipped department with excellent leadership and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons across KS3 and KS4 including areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, and/or Graphics.
- Inspire students to think creatively, solve problems, and develop key technical and design skills.
- Prepare students for relevant DT qualifications such as GCSE and A-Level.
- Promote safe and effective use of workshop tools and equipment.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning and development.
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum design, and school-wide enrichment.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
- Specialism in DT or a related field (e.g. Engineering, Product Design).
- Experience teaching Design & Technology in a UK secondary school is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures in a workshop environment.
- Excellent classroom management, organisation, and communication skills.
